Technician Profile

Jeff Threlfall

“I purchased my first Windows PC in 1987 and by 2004, I could see the potential for growth in tech support generally. I gained my Diploma in Information Technology in 2005. I then started PC Sanity in 2006 especially because I found there was a lack of support for novice and mature-age computer users. As a mature-age technician, I found that most computer technicians didn’t and still don’t provide patient, honest advice with old-fashioned personalized service or use plain-language instead of geek speak. I am extremely patient and very understanding even with complete newbies and I’m well known for that attribute.”

Our Difference

PC Sanity has been in business since 2006. We concentrate on the quality of service provided rather than the quantity of customers served. As we have low overheads and our profit margins are low, our prices are very competitive with the big shops. We always provide honest advice and prompt, reliable and affordable repairs. Jeff is a mature-age technician and as such treats all customers with respect and personally handles all repairs and communications.

N

Personal Service

We offer a high level of "old-fashioned" personal service most computer repair companies don't. Being a mature technician, Jeff will treat you with respect even if you are a complete novice. We give plain English explanations.

N

Honest & Reliable

We provide user-friendly, honest and reliable computer repair, maintenance, support, upgrades, troubleshooting, networking, security services in a timely manner at a very reasonable price. Our new PCs & notebooks are very competively priced.

N

Inclusions

When we supply you a PC or notebook, we provide System Setup included in the quoted price:

  • finalise the (pre-installed) Windows setup
  • install all critical/important Windows Updates
  • install latest Adobe Reader, uninstall trial programs
  • disable unnecessary Startup entries (makes your computer load Windows faster)
  • plus more

We have many reviews of our prior work. Please view them located in our reviews page. We also have many Reviews on our Facebook Page.

N

Fast Turnaround Time

For in-workshop jobs, our turn-around time is very short. Most jobs are completed within one or two days. When you collect your computer, we actually demonstrate that it is fixed & are happy to explain the changes made/work carried out on your computer & (where available) show you the logs. We send you a courtesy email afterwards to follow-up on your computer service/repair.

N

In an age where privacy feels increasingly elusive, Mark Zuckerberg has issued a stern warning to Facebook Messenger users: Don't screen-shot your chats—or at least, don't expect it to go unnoticed if you do.
Is this just in case the US government is using chats for official security-related business and in case a journalist or other individual may get accidentally added to the group or may get sent screen shots?

This came up in my Fb Memories from 4 years ago. Toshiba used to make laptops that would last. Customers were bringing in Toshibas, some as old as 12 years, just for an annual service & Trend Micro Security renewal. Everything still worked fine.
One complaint I had was, when the laptop had to be opened e.g. to swap to an SSD (solid state drive) or add more RAM, there were far too many screws, ridiculously so. This one had 23!!!

Hi Jeff

Thanks for the follow-up!

Just to confirm that I am very happy with the computer & your service in setting things up.

At this stage all is OK & I do not have any questions.

PC Sanity have served our family computer needs, repairs and new PCs for several years and we are extremely happy with the company. They have always accommodated our needs and have been exceptionally good especially where we are not very IT literate. They gone out of their way to overcome any computer problem for us and we can highly recommend them.

I must say a BIG Thank you for helping me to sort out my computer recently.

As we needed to do a full reboot of my system, you were thorough in backing up all my files as we have our own business we had a lot of information on our system.

After you had finished I had almost a brand new system that worked absolutely fantastically. So once again your expertise and low affordable costs were greatly appreciated.

We would like to send our appreciation for the help we received fixing our computer. It is so frustrating when you have tried everything and still can not get the computer to work. Amazingly it is a miracle when we, as mature age people can use the computer for our simple needs. There is nothing worse than trying to live in this modern age with things breaking down.

All is working very well and I am very happy with the new computer. I will
definitely be straight back to you when I renew my trend security (which I think isn’t until Jan 2011)
Thanks a lot for all your help
